Meet Vanessa Pena-Hallinan

Vanessa Peña-Hallinan serves as counsel to Lamano Law Office. She is known for her sharp instincts and deep dedication to defending the accused. As Managing Partner at Hallinan Law Firm, she represents clients in a range of criminal matters, including misdemeanors, felonies, and restraining orders. She is particularly effective in high-pressure situations where strategic thinking and strong interpersonal skills make all the difference.

With over twenty years of legal experience, Ms. Peña-Hallinan began her career as a senior paralegal at some of the nation’s top law firms and in-house legal departments, including Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman LLP, GAP and Salesforce. Her extensive background managing complex litigation and global trademark portfolios laid a powerful foundation for her transition into criminal defense. She earned her Juris Doctor from the University of San Francisco School of Law—where she also earned a Certificate in Intellectual Property and Technology Law.

Ms. Peña-Hallinan has confidently stepped into active criminal cases, mastering local court procedures and advocating fearlessly on behalf of her clients. She is an active member of the San Francisco La Raza Lawyers Association, the Hispanic National Bar Association, and serves on several committees with the International Trademark Association (INTA).

Although not fluent, Ms. Peña-Hallinan speaks conversational Spanish and uses her language skills to advocate for clients from diverse backgrounds. Outside of the courtroom, she enjoys spending time with her family, mentoring young professionals, and staying connected to the Bay Area communities she proudly serves.
