Meet Sara Coppin
For nearly two decades, attorney Sara E. Coppin has stood beside clients dealing with serious immigration and criminal charges. For more than 15 years, she has handled family visas, naturalization, and post‑conviction relief for non‑citizens, working closely with criminal defense attorneys to reduce or avoid immigration fallout from an arrest or conviction.
Ms. Coppin’s focus is on non‑citizens facing criminal charges with potential deportation risks and complicated family‑based immigration issues. She is known for her deep understanding of how a criminal case can affect someone’s status in the U.S. Clients appreciate that she is easy to talk to and brings both skill and empathy to every case, making a stressful process easier to understand and manage. Ms. Coppin meets with our clients to learn who they are beyond the police report—their family story, upbringing, work history, struggles, and the circumstances that led to the charges—so she can explain to the court the full picture of the person, not just a single incident.
Ms. Coppin started handling select matters for Lamano Law Office in 2018 and officially became of counsel to the firm in 2026. She received her B.A. from UC Santa Cruz and her law degree from the University of California, San Francisco. In her free time, she loves being with her family, spending time with her horse, and getting outside in nature.
