Meet Manjula Martin
Manjula Martin is the Managing Attorney at Lamano Law Office and a seasoned criminal defense attorney known for her depth of experience, strong legal judgment, and compassionate client care. With a career rooted in both advocacy and leadership, Ms. Martin has earned a reputation as a trusted professional who brings clarity and confidence to even the most complex cases.
She has organized and moderated numerous continuing legal education panels for the Alameda County Bar Association on topics such as restitution, record clean-up, cell phone records in criminal trials, appellate preparation, and the use of expert testimony in strangulation cases. These efforts reflect her commitment not only to mastering the law but to shaping how it is practiced in her community. Ms. Martin also serves on the Board of Women Lawyers of Alameda County, advocating for greater representation and equity in the legal system.
Ms. Martin’s career began in public service, representing survivors of domestic violence in family court through the San Francisco Bar Association Legal Services Program. She has worked on high-stakes habeas corpus litigation, including a case heard by the California Supreme Court involving a wrongfully convicted man. She also clerked with the San Francisco District Attorney’s Office, gaining firsthand experience with domestic violence, sexual assault, and felony preliminary hearings.
Her knowledge and courtroom skills have earned her distinction within the legal field. She is a member of the California DUI Lawyers Association, received the CALI Excellence Award for Criminal Litigation, and completed the National College of DUI Defense at the Harvard Law School campus. She has also been nominated as a Lawyer of Distinction.
